I was born in New Ross Co.Wexford in 1966. I have a mechanical engineering back round and worked in the processing and development of polymeric products.
My musical fascination with the violin began in Ennis Co.Clare, where i was taught to play the fiddle by Siobhan Peoples and the great Frank Custy from Toonagh.
I happened upon the violin world by good fortune and it has changed my life immeasurably for the better.
A desire to know and learn more about the fiddle & violin , led me on a passionate journey of discovery.
From the tentative step of taking Traditional Irish fiddle classes in my native Ireland, I have studied in the Internationally renowned European Violin Making school, in Cremona in Italy, the centre of classical violin making. I also studied Violin Making in England at The Newark School of Violin Making ,the power house of 21st Century violin making and repair, where I received my Diploma in Violin Making and Repair.
Today I run my own violin making and repair workshop, based in Derbyshire . where I continue to develop my craft.
It gives me great pleasure to spend my days restoring and making instruments.
